Peace, the second offering from the Refuge Series, depicts worry-free muted calm. When nobody can see you, nobody wants or needs you for anything and you can just…be. The concept reminded me of the way my grandmother would rock in her chair on the porch during long afternoons in the Memphis heat. Face resting in her soft palm, she’d stare intently at nothing, breathing even and in sync with the breeze that rhythmically cut through the bushes. Everything is important but nothing is urgent.
